What is the pursued purpose?
The Regulatory Council of the Les Garrigues PDO will process personal data for one of the following purposes:
- To manage the query, request or complaint made via email.
- To manage olive producers and operators, in order to defend and guarantee the protected designation of origin, their requests and subsidies.
- To manage the Register of olive producers.
It is necessary that you provide your first and last name and your contact details in order to receive a response (an email address and/or telephone number).
Failure to provide the indicated data may prevent your request from being processed.
What is the legitimacy or legal basis?
In the case of inquiries made by people who do not belong to the PDO, their consent, which can be withdrawn at any time.
In the rest of the cases, the treatment is based on the fulfilment of a mission in the public interest and the fulfilment of a legal obligation.
How long are personal data kept?
Personal data will be kept for the following periods:
- Managing the query, request or complaint made via email: the data will be kept for up to 1 year after the response or resolution.
- Managing olive producers and operators, in order to defend and guarantee the protected designation of origin: 1 year from the end of the relationship with the PDO.
- Managing the Register of olive producers: 1 year from deregistration.
Once these terms have passed, the data will be deleted and blocked, in accordance with the personal data protection regulations.
Are personal data communicated to third parties?
The data can be communicated to the Department of the Catalan Government with competence in agricultural matters; to the Provincial Council of Lleida; or to the certification body. If required by the correct management of the request made by the interested person, the data could be communicated to the PDO producers or operators, or to the competent public administrations, as the case may be.
Are international data transfers planned?

What are the categories of interested or affected people?
People who request information or make a request or complaint; olive producers and operators’ contact managers.
What categories of data are processed?
Processed data: name and surnames, email address, telephone, employment data, production data or other data that may be provided by the affected people.
What are the rights of the people concerned?
Any person has the right to obtain information about whether we are processing their personal data. In case they are processed, people have the right to access the data being processed.
Individuals also have the right to request the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data, as well as to request its deletion (right to be forgotten) in certain cases, such as when it is no longer necessary for the purposes for those that had been collected.
They can also request the limitation of data processing in certain cases. In the event that this right applies, the personal data stored are marked, with the aim of limiting their processing in the future. Thus, the limitation of the treatment implies that, at the request of the person concerned, their personal data will cease to be processed.
Interested persons can exercise their right to data portability, and in certain circumstances, they can also object to the processing of their personal data.
Finally, all people have the right not to be the subject of decisions based solely on the automated processing of their data. At this point, it is worth pointing out that the Les Garrigues PDO does not adopt this type of automated decisions, nor does it create profiles.
